About Us: Disciples of the Sacred Heart (DSH)
Our Foundation:
We are the Disciples of the Sacred Heart (DSH), a community dedicated to living and spreading the devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Our inspiration stems from the profound revelations given to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque: "On 27 December 1673, the feast of St. John, Margaret Mary said that Jesus had permitted her to rest her head upon His Heart, and then disclosed to her the wonders of his love, telling her that he desired to make them known to all mankind and to diffuse the treasures of his goodness, and that he had chosen her for this work." This divine desire ignited our founder, Reverend Father Kumud Chandra Nayak, to establish a community that would embody and share this love.
Driven by his own deep experience of the Sacred Heart's love, Father Nayak envisioned a congregation of both men and women who would consecrate their entire being – heart, soul, and mind – to Jesus. This commitment is rooted in Christ's commandment in Matthew 22:37, emphasizing the paramount importance of loving God wholeheartedly. Recognizing the Sacred Heart as the very embodiment of divine love, as affirmed in 1 John 4:8,16 ("God is Love"), Father Nayak aimed to foster a deep and transformative relationship with God through this devotion.
Our Motto: Anima et Coro Unum in Jesu
One heart and one soul in Jesus
Our Call:
"As Disciples of the Sacred Heart, we pursue personal holiness through a life of prayer, fasting, communal living, and faithful adherence to the Catholic Sacraments, as guided by the Magisterium."
Our Life:
"Rooted in Gospel values, our life as Disciples of the Sacred Heart is characterized by prayer, charity, self-sacrifice, and loving obedience. We live this 'Vita Mixta,' a blend of contemplative and active ministry, in simple community according to the Rule of St. Augustine."

The provision of holistic education.
Compassionate care for the sick, elderly, and impoverished.
Unwavering participation in the pastoral ministry of the local Church, wherever a need arises.
We strive to be living testaments to the Sacred Heart's boundless love, extending its healing and transformative power to all.
